For the August September issue of GT WINE Magazine, the tasting panel dived into the red version of the Italianate white varieties tasting published in February. We excluded sangiovese and nebbiolo but went hard on the rest. The results were more than interesting as we tackled barbera, dolcetto, primitivo/zinfandel, montepulciano, nero d’Avola et al. It wasn’t a clear win for the Italians or the Aussies, rather a celebration of the savoury, food friendly reds. Don’t miss one, it’ll book out fast!
