Twenty Five Doors ‘Keen Eye Pick’ for March

Every month, I cast my eye over the Twenty Five Doors wine club and nominates my ‘keen eye pick‘. These are unique offers directly from wineries that aren’t available anywhere else.

Pack of the Month

David Hook

2017 Pinot Grigio x 2
2016 Vermentino x 2
2014 De Novo Bianco x 2

$140 6-pack

David Hook is a Hunter Valley stalwart with semillon and shiraz in his veins. However he doesn’t mind going off piste to craft this trio of highly quaffable whites. The Pinot Grigio is bright and breezy, the Vermentino mouth-filling with lemon pith flavours and the innovative De Novo blend (after a few years in bottle) has a delightful touch of honey and spice. All delightful drinking now with seafood or pan-Asian dishes.

A Single Bottle Worth Your Attention

2016 Fraser Gallop Estate Cabernet Merlot

$155 6-pack

Fraser Gallop is a stellar Margaret River winegrower that flies under the vinous radar. Intense mulberry and blackcurrant flavours and a lick of pumice-like tannins. A rare steak, please.
